Don Cowell Memorial Trust

Solo recorder competition 2013

The Don Cowell Memorial Trust was set up to perpetuate the memory of Don Cowell, a gifted player and teacher of the recorder and the mandolin, who was killed in a car accident in 1979.

The activities of the Trust are being supported by a generous bequest from the estate of Dr James Smibert.

In 2013, the DCMT presents a Solo Recorder Competition for students of recorder resident in Australia. The aim is to support promising students in the early stages of their career.
